The problem anyone who takes an interest in politics can guess what a party politician will say on mosy subjects. Perhaps they need more rebels on panels like Dennis Skinner. or Zac Goldsmith

YABU. Programmes like QT are often the way that people who have a vague interest in politics get to the position of having some idea of what each politician is going to say.

You just need to find a different programme if you want to listen to political discussions without politicians.

ghostyslovesheep · 19/06/2015 12:14

Dennis Skinner is a politician

fortyfide · 19/06/2015 12:15

yES BUT ds IS DIFFERENT TO MOST

Yabu. I've been in the audience for qt, it was great. I WANT to see how our party politicians react to various issues. It has a good mix of panellists.

tethersend · 19/06/2015 15:21

YANBU.

While we're at it, let's get rid of the sportspeople on A Question Of Sport. And The Voice is full of bloody singers. Get rid of them.

squoosh · 19/06/2015 15:22

Is Zac Goldmsith a rebel?

Moonatic · 19/06/2015 15:24

YABU. I like hearing what politicians have to say so I can decide whether I might want to vote for them (or their party, at least).
It can be interesting, too, listening to people like journalists, business leaders and academics.

Personally, I can't stand the "celebrities" they often have on the panel like Russell Brand, Jarvis Cocker and Charlotte Church, for example. I have absolutely zero interest in their opinions.

PurpleDaisies · 19/06/2015 15:25

It is a political debate show. There are already non political members on the panel.

YABU.

SwedishEdith · 19/06/2015 15:36

You can't always guess what they're going to say though. Last night Caroline Flint said she agreed with Melanie Phillips on one issue. Shock Some of the non-politicians are awful though and more predictable. Who was the woman last week - Jill Kirby - she's always predictable.

squoosh · 19/06/2015 15:41

There's a twit called Tim Stanley who appears far more often than is good for my blood pressure.

MardyBra · 19/06/2015 15:43

It's a political debate show to enable members of the public to grill politicians. Why would you want less fewer of them. Confused

timelyreminder · 19/06/2015 15:44

YABU. I think the balance is fine.

MardyBra · 19/06/2015 15:44

Maybe we should have less fewer singers on X Factor. You can usually guess that they're going to sing something.

Housewife2010 · 19/06/2015 15:45

Fewer not less

ClaudiaNaughton · 19/06/2015 15:51

Zac rebels against Heathrow expansion -because of the constituency he represents-

SwedishEdith · 19/06/2015 16:01

Oh, god, that Tim Stanley! I've seen him on that Nicky Campbell Sunday am show - the Big Questions? I was thinking he was quite fit until he started speaking.

LurkingHusband · 19/06/2015 16:38

I haven't watched QT since they went from 4 guests to 5. Although to be honest it was downhill after Robin Day left.

squoosh · 19/06/2015 16:41

Oh SwedishEdith, you must burn with the shame! I shall never look at you in the same light again. Grin

SwedishEdith · 19/06/2015 16:57

I'd blanked the memory. But, I've just remembered who's on next week Yanis! Grin

NonDom · 19/06/2015 17:01

It's a political show so should be mostly politicians.

I think they get it right with having one non-politician on the panel.

squoosh · 19/06/2015 17:05

Yanis looks like he's hungry for human flesh when he smiles. And if things in Greece get a bit hairy he might need to cancel his QT appearance.

squoosh · 19/06/2015 17:06

Although I'd love if Yanis was hungry for human flesh when sitting next to Quentin bloody Letts. He's another QT regular who brings me out in hives.

SwedishEdith · 25/06/2015 23:12

Went on twitter to see what was being said at #bbcqt. And the first post was Tim Stanley Grin

And no Yanis Sad Quelle surprise really but...

Massivetonsil · 25/06/2015 23:24

Yabu I love QT and really want to be in the audience and ask a question

I wish it wasn't so left leaning at times though and was more impartial (although that may have been just the episodes I caught!)
