Car hire deposit

I hired a car last week and dropped it back on Saturday evening. They had blocked £200 on my Visa debit card when I collected the car and said it would be released when the car was returned. It has still not been released.
AIBU to think that they should have released my money immediately.

Probably not immediately as they would need to check the car for damage but by now yes they should have.

Phone them maybe.

Had a hire car yesterday, when I rang to report a problem with it the first thing on the recorded announcement was "if you are ringing about your deposit please note it can take up to 10 days to refund", or words to that effect anyway-10 days! Nice little earner for them keeping everyone's £200 for 10 days.
