Next door are having a fence redone, the blokes doing it are parked right across my drive. We don't usually use drive and park in road. BUT we are having lots of visitors today, so could do with using it. Thing is, the sheer cheek of them just pulling up and parking there has sent me into a rage. So WIBU to ask them to move? I do have slight pmt so am irrational more so than usual today

Jesus just ask them to fucking move?!

What's wrong with that? "Excuse me, please could you move?"

Man up!

FriendofBill · 26/05/2015 09:35

Yes, be polite and pleasant.
'Can you move that please, I'm expecting visitors at 12' or whatever.

Would you move the van please, I need access to my drive.

Job done.

Sandbrook · 26/05/2015 09:38

What Gerti said. You don't need excuses to ask someone to stop blocking your drive

Chunkymonkey79 · 26/05/2015 09:38

"hi, I need access to my driveway please can you move your truck"

Confused
NellysKnickers · 26/05/2015 09:38

Thing is we don't usually use the drive so I don't want neighbours to think we are being awkward. If I used it daily I would have been out before they had turned off the engine. But thanks anyway fortunately for your helpful advice.

Good grief, do you need to post on MN before you go for a pee as well?

Just tell them to move the damn thing.

fortunately · 26/05/2015 09:40

Any time.

diddl · 26/05/2015 09:43

Is there a car on your drive?

If so, they shouldn't have blocked it in.

If not, they have actually done nothing wrong, I think.

However, more than likely they are reasonable people & if you ask them to move so that people can get onto your drive, they most likely will.

NellysKnickers · 26/05/2015 09:44

Sorted. It wasn't as simple as just popping round but all done now.

OP posts:
ShadowFire · 26/05/2015 09:44

You don't need a reason to ask them to move. The - and the neighbours - would be extremely unreasonable if they thought that you were being unreasonable for wanting access to your drive.

ShadowFire · 26/05/2015 09:45

X- posted. Glad it's sorted.

Notthecarwashagain · 26/05/2015 10:25

Hopefully they were more polite when you ask than the workmen building an extension across the road from my grandmas house.
They blocked the whole pavement, 4 wheels on, and then double parked too.
Blocked my grandmas drive, and 2 neighbours.
One neighbour asked if they could move so he could get his van on the drive was met with "who's got the bigger truck, me or you?!" Hmm
Less polite was the "fuck off" reply my 84 year old grandma got

Notthecarwashagain · 26/05/2015 10:25

*asked

Mayvis · 26/05/2015 10:30

Could they have parked in the space you were taking up in the road if you'd have just parked in your drive in the first place?

Fudgeface123 · 26/05/2015 10:31

I don't understand why you'd park on the road if you have a driveway?

firesidechat · 26/05/2015 10:32

Why don't you use your drive?

firesidechat · 26/05/2015 10:32

X post.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 26/05/2015 10:39
