To think this lady at church was inspired

I'm kind of on the fringes of the local church. Quite involved with some of the charity stuff they do, not so much in the church itself.

Was the church fete last weekend and we go as a family and spend money on a load of stuff we don't want. I don't mind spending the money, I consider it a donation and I want to help the fete be a success, but I don't want all the tombola prizes, cakes and nick nacks I end up with.

One older lady there, instead of spending money herself, was kindly giving spending money to children she knew from church (with the permission of their parents). So, she got to give a gift to the children, donate to the church and she didn't have a load of tatt home with her Grin

YABU not to want the cakesGrin
The nick backs? We just donate them again. They are kind of on circulation round the congregation.

I take my Grandma to the school fete of my old primary. We play the games and then put our prizes down on the stalls where they are selling the stuff, or stick them back into some other game. That way they get paid for twice. Also, neither Grandma nor I are really the target demographic for glow in the dark goo.
