To think one packet of walkers

Summerwood1 · 11/05/2015 22:46

Crisps from multipack is not enough so I have an extra packet. Greedy I know, but you only get a handful of crisps in those packets. I am a crisp monster though, cheese and onion being my favourite, followed by a close second with Smokey bacon!

Why is there no pickled onion in a multipack, why???

AuntyMag10 · 11/05/2015 22:49

Yanbu I usually have two in one go.

arethereanyleftatall · 11/05/2015 22:50

It's absolutely fine, yanbu.

Monster munch are the absolute worst for tricking you in to thinking there's still more in the packet.

mrsfuzzy · 11/05/2015 22:51

why is my dh posting on here? and summer if your not my dh you are related, he's a regular crisp nosher, i have to hide them from him !

Multipack Hula Hoops are ridiculous, probably 1 ring for each finger per packet.

SeenSheen · 11/05/2015 23:11

I have been known to eat all six! The bags in multipacks are so tiny that even the kids complain sometimes.

DoTheDuckFace · 11/05/2015 23:14

Beef space raiders get me every time. There is nothing quite like the disappointment of reaching into the bag for the next crisp only to find they are all gone.

ouryve · 11/05/2015 23:15

I can't get through a whole one. They're so sickly.

Seasalt & Balsamic vinegar Kettlechips, OTOH. Wanky sounding but addictive.

cleanmyhouse · 11/05/2015 23:16

i just ate a packet in bed. i might go down stairs and get another.

Summerwood1 · 11/05/2015 23:18

It's making me hungry, but no crisps left in the house....

Smoorikins · 11/05/2015 23:18

MsUumellmahaye are you in Scotland?

I ask because according to a friend of mine, they only sell pickled onion walkers in Scotland - nobody buys them elsewhere, allegedly.

Mrsjayy · 11/05/2015 23:18

Just opened a packet of ready salted there is about 12crisps in it look at my sad face Sad

5madthings · 11/05/2015 23:22

You have just reminded me I have a multi pack in the kitchen... Now I need to eat some...

Chillwinston · 11/05/2015 23:28

It's a real cheek ...YANBU at all. In fact, I moan to my DH about this on a very regular basis , being a massive crisp lover. Outrageous behaviour on walkers behalf.
I'm in total agreement also with a pp who said about monster munch too. Yes, whatever has happened to them? Back in my day they were in a big long packet and filled to the brim. Nowadays , they're in a minuscule packet with half the amount in....and the crisp themselves are much smaller. It really does require two packets (at least) to be eaten before feeling remotely satisfied IMO.

Mrsjayy · 11/05/2015 23:39

Occasionally i see and buy share (HA) monster munch they seem like a normal packet

BreconBeBuggered · 11/05/2015 23:40

I agree. I'm still struggling with the travesty of Seabrooks changing their famed proper full-sized multipack crisps to measly 25g crisp-teasers. Economics I can understand, and I'll pay more to get more crisps, but mealy-mouthed waffle about cutting down on portion sizes is so wrong it should be outlawed. If you have to eat two packets, that's 50g, not 30g.

Mrsjayy · 11/05/2015 23:55

Seabrooks is a joke these days i love the beefy ones i was arguing with dh about the packets being smaller

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 12/05/2015 00:04

I have two big bags of Kettle salt & vinegar ridged crisps and two big bags of the Waitrose salt & cider vinegar ones, or whatever they are, hidden downstairs.

The Kettle ones are lovely. The Waitrose ones are horrible. Total disappointment.

MrsTedCrilly · 12/05/2015 00:21

YANBU, two is a must. They must be kid sizes! I'm a total crispy fiend though, and can destroy one of those massive bags in half a hour... Blush

crazykat · 12/05/2015 12:55

Crisp packets started getting smaller when all the 'lower fat' and 'lower calories' labels got added. I can remember when multi pack bags of crisps were 30-35g per bag, now you're lucky if there's 20g per pack.

Wotsits are the worst, not only have the bags got smaller but the wotsits themselves aren't as big as they used to be. I'd rather go back to proper sized bags of crisps that haven't been messed about with to are them healthier. They're crisps they aren't supposed to be healthy. Don't get me started on bars of chocolate that are ever decreasing in size, I'd rather pay a bit more for a full size bar over a fun sized bar passed off as full size.

LittleIda · 12/05/2015 12:59

Smoorikins Your friend is right that you don't get pickled onion walkers in England. I've not seen any anyway.

IsadoraJ · 12/05/2015 13:05

You can get pickled onion Walkers crisps in England, I'm in the north west and currently eating them Grin

LiviaDruscillaAugusta · 12/05/2015 13:08

I used to eat pickled onion Walkers all the time about 18 years ago. Then they came back in my local Nisa store for about a month - I bought as many as I could, but then they didn't re-stock Sad

Isadora I think I'm going to move to the north west! Grin

MrsNextDoor · 12/05/2015 13:08

Oh yanbu. I am a woman of two cheese and onion packs myself OP so understand your dillema.
