To prefer the Conservatives to Labour despite leaning hard to the left

Yes sorry - another politics one!

I consider myself a very left wing person but where I am from (Scotland) the SNP got the seat and there were many complaints from people about SNP voters letting the tories in. This isn't my question though.

AIBU to think that the tories are far better than Labour? The way I look at it is that the Conservatives are like your grumpy, cantankerous, old fashioned and nasty neighbour. Unpleasant but at least they don't hide it if you see what I mean.

Labour, by contrast, is far worse as the party likes to tell the poor that it is their best friend while screwing them just as hard. It's the hypocrisy that is far worse than simple nastiness. AIBU?

I think taking money from the sick and vulnerable is a bit more than cantankerous old uncle They don't hide it? really?

Yes, the Tories are better.

Yes I think so. I would never vote for Labour.

I do think that there is something about having the courage of your convictions. I would never vote Conservative but my friends who do are lovely people, they just fundamentally disagree with me about how to improve the country.

The mostly white, privileged, mostly male, mostly rich, mostly... the whole of parliament looks the same. And, I think, mostly thinks very similarly. It's about political power, not principles and helping people.

Very disillusioned here.
