Ok i need help. I like a clean kitchen. Therefore every week i put the hob bits into the dishwasher and wash them as it brings them up perfect. Ive been doing this for some time. Ive just unloaded the dishwasher and one piece is missing. I know i put it in the dishwasher. It went in the top shelf. Dh and i have changed the bit at the bottom, the shelfs everything and its not there! Where else? Please help. This is a rented flat i need that bit.

Check the filters in the bottom of the dishwasher, if you twist the filters in the bottom you can remove and check. Otherwise it can't be in there.

londonrach · 10/05/2015 20:23

Photos. Please help. Where would it go?

Filters where?

DurhamDurham · 10/05/2015 20:26

Have a look in the part where the water drains away, it must surely be there if you can't see it anywhere else.

Have you pulled the trays out and checked it's not right at the back of the dishwasher?

sunbathe · 10/05/2015 20:27

Fallen down and slotted sideways on into the cutlery basket?

TTTatty · 10/05/2015 20:28

Has it got stuck inside something else?

PterodactylTeaParty · 10/05/2015 20:28

Since it's round, could it have rolled out of the dishwasher and away underneath something when you opened/closed the drawers?

londonrach · 10/05/2015 20:30

Found it. Can now breath. Thanks mn. It got stuck behind at the back. Magic of mn found it as dh and i have checked everywhere including where it was. My search for the filters found it. Still no idea where the filters are. As you were mntters... Thanks for your help xx

Great!

MissBattleaxe · 10/05/2015 20:46

Wow, your hob is sparkling! what do you use to get it so shiny?

londonrach · 10/05/2015 20:53

Washing up liquid and £1 kitchen roll from pound land and cif actifizz. Cif it first then (leave on for 5 mins) then use a sheet from the kitchen roll to clean which had old washing up liquid in then cleaned all liquid up with new poundland kitchen roll sheet. Its the really thick stuff that just one over grown roll. Do it every couple of days so no major build up although we cook thai curry from stratch and that gets everywhere! Hate gas, still getting used to it. Burns too quick. Thanks mn for help re ths mystery. X

Put a few drops of baby oil on it then polish with a microfibre cloth that makes stainless steel sparkle like new.

LittleMilkNoSugar · 10/05/2015 22:04

Definitely work out how to remove your dishwasher filters. They're the buggers that make your dishes smell bad if you don't clean them regularly.

Nice hob!

MsPerfect · 10/05/2015 22:14

I think this thread was just a stealth boast about your amazingly clean hob... Wink Grin

Your dishwasher interior looks like mine. The grey circular plastic part that sticks out of the mesh should twist and come up. Highly unlikely anything but food would get trapped in there.

I run a dishwasher cleaning product through it every quarter (depending on usage) to ensure it keeps running well

Silvercatowner · 11/05/2015 00:45

Highly unlikely anything but food would get trapped in there. - lol - bits of lego, anyone? (Kids are 26 and 28)

londonrach · 11/05/2015 07:50

WhEre are the filters please. I know where the salt goes in. Is it near there. Discovered the washing machine had a filter last week. Hate having renting house with no instructions in machines.

The filter is, in the centre of your picture. You will find there is a fine mesh stainless steel "plate" that is on the floor or the dish washer with the drain hole in the middle,The grey plastic basket in the middle is sitting in the drain, this basket should lift out .It is a wide bore filter, will catch things like bits of lettuce, it sits in other sections of finer filter.Watch how you lift them out so you can pop them back in the same order.Once the centre sections are out you can lift out the base tray filter.A quick rinse in hot water and wave of a brush and they can all go back in.
You must be a valued tenant, that hob is dazzling !

magimedi · 11/05/2015 08:27

If you put the make of the dishwasher & model, which may be on it, into google you will probably find instructions for it.

Sparklingbrook · 11/05/2015 08:29

Eww. brace yourself for when you unscrew the filter.

WicksEnd · 11/05/2015 08:32

Oh god, I'm gonna have to clean my filter now, not done it for ages. Yuk.

Sparklingbrook · 11/05/2015 08:34

I might have to clean the filters in the cooker hood-they go in the dishwasher after a quick swill in the sink.

Golferman · 11/05/2015 08:47

Yes, baby oil on your hob works great.
