Booked flights for our family holiday over the weekend - to get the best prices booked we got 6 tickets in a 3 separate lots (you know, they have 2 tickets left at x price etc) All payments showing as processed, printed off confirmation screens.

Then we got an email saying we had cancelled two of the tickets! I've been on the phone for over 2 hours today, trying to work through the problem; they blamed the bank, so had to ring them, bank said they hadn't been asked for the money for those two tickets and had paid out for the other tickets. Finally someone admitted it was a computer problem at Thomas Cook, but it was tough, we would now have to buy another pair of tickets - and guess what? The price has shot up!

Cancel it all! How annoying.

Twitter them to fuck. They do not like that. Twitter them till they agree to sell them at the original price.

Must admit I wasn't very impressed with Thomas Cook (our holiday was fab but that's because the hotel was amazing) in general the whole booking process was really long winded and overly complicated. Using there online system to pre book seats was a pain and wouldn't work - looked like I'd been charged but no seats booked. Had to go into store they said no deffo hadn't pre booked seats or been charged, again computer error, but no sorry they couldn't do it in store had to do it online.

Wasn't that impressed with the flight service either tbh

If you have the confirmation screens printed off and there is no evidence that you cancelled the booking the are they not obliged to honour the original price? Especially as they admitted it was a computer problem at Thomas Cook.

I recently booked with Dial a Flight. They were really good, and got me 4 cheap tickets to Dubai in oct half term. Flexible too. Not sure that will help!

This is rubbish OP! I only have good things to say about TC today, they solved my problem swiftly when I phoned earlier. I agree with above - if you've got proof of booking then they should definitely stick to that price if it's their computers fault! Tweet them like mad!

I have to agree about Thomas Cook, used them in 2009 for my honeymoon and they mucked that up didn't use them till last year to book this years holiday as thought I would give them another chance and once again they have mucked up.
