But in answer to your OP - no - I don't remember but that doesn't mean it wasn't here!

Who was whinging? The neighbour or the mother of the children.

I suspect we're getting a very one sided version of events from the Daily Mail (surprise, surprise).

I do remember an OP posting about her daughter and friends playing ball outside someone's home, when it was going dark, and being asked to move but ignoring the woman who asked. Is that the one you mean?

I think those children were older Deja and were out at 10 o'clock at night. Wasn't part of the story that her 12 year old daughter ran home crying because the neighbour has asked where she lived so she could speak to the parents?

No, it was a thread about a woman who lived down a Cul de Sac and had two children that age who were playing on scooters and their elderly neighbours complained. I'm sure it's her, she has the same 'my kids can play where they want and do what they like attitude. Completely refusing to move the children a bit further down the street where they're not disturbing anyone.

The only difference was that in the thread the children were making the neighbours dogs bark constantly which disturbed the entire neighbourhood. I think she's judiciously left that bit out. Would explain why the police turned up too. And why they were keen for the children not to play there.

I notice in the comments beneath the article someone commented on the Mumsnet thread. Has anyone got a link?

The text of the piece says the police talked with the parents - the headline gives the impression the police interviewed the children for 45 minutes.

I also like the, no doubt carefully edited, comments from the Police. I am seeing huge gaps between the lines

Ballet, yes that's true. It was the only thread I could think of though where a neighbour had complained about children playing.

Having read the OP's update I think I may remember the thread, although could be wrong again.

Seriously, whatever the ins and outs of the story the mother behaved like an idiot, running to the paper and getting her kids to pose with put on sad faces. Hardly likely to improve neighbourly relations or endear her family to anyone.

Well if she is the same person she has no sense. They just want the children to move slightly, and she thinks that's worth a load of aggro with her neighbours and a sad face news story.

It'S only because of mn that I have even perused the dm online- prior to that I had never even looked at the daily mail online and had only ever read a dm paper if it had been left on a table in the canteen at work.
