To be really annoyed I can't vote!

I have to go to Glasgow for a meeting on Thursday. Flight leaves at 7, not back until 10. I'm too late for a postal vote.

I feel really really annoyed...is there any way I can go to a different polling station. In Scotland even though I'm from London?

Could you get a proxy vote?

NoMoreMissusNiceGuy · 05/05/2015 22:58

You might be able to vote by proxy.
Have a look at AboutMyVote.co.uk .

Ooh, what is a proxy vote?

I'm an overseas voter and the form hasnt reached me yet, so I'll not get to vote either. Sad I should have registered sooner, but I dont really understand why more than 2 weeks on I've not got anything, whereas anything my mum sends gets here in 4 days flat.

ilovesooty · 06/05/2015 09:18

Emergency proxy - good luck!

redexpat postal votes tend to go out quite late as the ballot papers cannot be printed until all the candidates have declared.

Next time round get yourself a proxy vote/postal proxy.

I was in labour during the referendum and managed to get a proxy vote. You do need to meet certain conditions to get one though. i.e unforseen emergency.

hedgehogsdontbite · 06/05/2015 14:50

I can't vote either. I'm an overseas voter and my papers never arrived. DH got his though.

Sidalee7 · 07/05/2015 23:06

I got an emergency proxy and my mum voted for me! Thanks all...
