to be angry I did nothing about forced kiss?

I went out with some friends for drinks last night, I went up to the bar and bought my drink and was heading back to my friends.

A guy put his arm out in front of me to stop me and pointed to my drink, I looked at it and could see the straws were about to fall so I assumed he was going to help put them back in (had my clutch bag in my other hand) when he started drinking it Hmm his friend started to apologise and the guy put his arm around me and was about to kiss me on the lips. The only reason he didn't was because I managed to pull my head away and he kissed me on the cheek instead.

I'm annoyed because the situation upset me but I did nothing, I just wanted to get out of that situation as fast as I could. Am I stupid for just letting it go?

How horrible!!! I'd have reacted the same as you and I'd be just as pissed off. We are bloody conditioned not to make a scene and that means bullying drunken pricks like this keep acting like this.

You were assaulted! We often don't know how to react on the spot in situations like that. What a fucking wanker. Maybe take solace in the fact that he had to force a kiss because that's probably the only way he can get one.. Sorry this has happened to you. So angry on your behalf, the arsehole.

What a couple of twats! I'm not sure what else you could have done given the circumstances but I agree it's a horrible situation.

No, you were not stupid.

You were taken by surprise and just wanted to get away. Who knows if you reacting angrily or violently would have led to the situation escalating further (which of course still would not have been your fault)

But this is what makes me so angry by the people who buy into this "why didn't you tell him to fuck off/punch him/knee him in the nuts/pour your drink over his head" etc

The fact remains that men most fear women ridiculing them and women moist fear men hurting them physically.

We never know how we're going to react in these situations, you're not stupid. I just make sure I always know where the bouncers are. Shame I have to really.

Well he was smiling as if he assumed it was something I liked Confused

I felt I should have explained why it's not acceptable to do that.

He also had no idea if I have a partner. I would have found it upsetting if some random woman in a bar grabbed my partner and kissed him on the lips.

I guess I just have to learn from the experience.

I just hate the fact that if the environment changed and it was me waiting for a train and a guy did that to me it would be more unacceptable than if he did it in a bar.

There's probably CCTV in the pub/club showing what happened if you wanted to take it further
