to celebrate NOT being pregnant this Summer??

DS was finally born (2 weeks overdue) last August. I spent the entire Summer a cranky, sweaty, hormonal behemoth.

I waddled everywhere. My gargantuan cankles made all my nice shoes unwearable. My back constantly ached. DP had to knuckle my back every night as I muttered and harumphed myself to sleep. I had to wear huge cotton muumuu style maternity dresses to try and keep cool. Even then I got chub rub Angry. I looked like Oswald Cobblepot (the Danny DeVito version) in drag. I couldn't sit in the garden and have a GnT or seven.

DC2 is now 8 months old and I am never going to be pregnant again. I've lost my baby weight + 1 stone (Hurrah!). I can wear nice clothes and shoes again!

I can go for big walks with the dog and run for a bus! I can sleep on my front! I can sleep all night without needing to get up for seventy five pees! I can eat pâté on toast for every meal if I like!

Wine Wine everyone Grin (and apologies to anyone due this summer Blush )

I'm due this summer you smug cow Grin. I'm 25 weeks and fed up especially as i'm constantly reminded that my bump will grow much bigger because it's twins. Not long now.... Please have a wine for me!

BunnyLebowski · 20/04/2015 16:13

Glitz Grin But twins! Awww! Double the snuggles. Congratulations Thanks .

I had two beached-whale summers with my autumn-borns. If there's one thing I'm thankful for about not having any more babies, it's not having to get through high summer in that state again.

Enjoyyyyyyy

GlitzAndGigglesx · 20/04/2015 16:18

Yup and double the kicks, double backache, double heartburn. No it's not really that bad I'm very lucky Smile

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 20/04/2015 16:18

I remember looking in a shop mirror two days before ds1 was born and bursting into tears because I was so fat. Ds was 9lbs 6 though so I was fat with good reason.

Glitz you are having twins, surely summer should be spent sitting in the shade while people fetch you things?

WorraLiberty · 20/04/2015 16:18

What the hell is pâté on toast, and where can I buy some? Grin

BunnyLebowski · 20/04/2015 16:19

Worra that'll teach me trying to be all continental and include the accents Grin . Pate innit. Chicken liver pate.

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 20/04/2015 16:21

Haha! Pronouncing the 't' in pate is about as continental as I get Grin

GlitzAndGigglesx · 20/04/2015 16:22

Coffee once I start mat leave hopefully that'll be the case. I can't wait to get off work! They're actually measuring a bit big too so that explains my 2 stone weight gain Grin

ShouldIworryornothelp · 20/04/2015 16:26

Im hoping I'll be pregnant this summer as AF is overdue

Jelliebabe1 · 20/04/2015 16:30

OMG - Glitz - Twins here too but only 12 weeks... AIBU to HATE you bunny!?!?!

Okay I know I am - still in the lovely beginning bit but by August I WILL! Grin

GreenPetal94 · 20/04/2015 17:35

siblings close together are fun, enjoy this summer as you might not enjoy next!

TimeforaDietCoke · 20/04/2015 17:44

I'm due in August this year - very excited about DS1, less so about chub rub Blush! Please also have a glass of wine for me. And three rounds of pate on toast!

DoorsAndWater · 20/04/2015 17:51

Same here Grin last summer felt at least 20 degrees hotter due to my mahoosive bump with DC2 I looked and felt awful, so pleased I'm done! G&T for you to celebrate Wine

Number3cometome · 20/04/2015 17:54

DC3 due in July, chub rub on the horizon, and on the one warm day last week I ended up in hospital with high BP and swollen ankles.

YANBU (and I am jealous)

I don't mind being pregnant, but hate being miserable in the heat!

GoodbyeToAllOfThat · 20/04/2015 18:01

Oh, YAsoNBU!

I had my first in September and spent a long, miserable summer in NYC just sitting in front of our feeble window AC unit. It was just miserable.

PlummyBrummy · 20/04/2015 21:12

This is going to be me this time next year, so I'm anticipating the smugness! I've got pregnant quickly both times which is great but means no break between babies (I'm due in 2 weeks) and I've been virtually dry (EBF) for nearly 3 years. Just watch international champagne stocks drain dry in a year's time!
