Love this recipe and I used to eat it all before making it in to a proper dinner!

It's perfect now it's a bit warmer too

What would go well with it? I have time and common sense, however, Ms Lawson I am not! Grin

Any of the above.

We mostly have it with cubed potatoes roasted in very hot oven with garlic and rosemary. And asparagus griddled while steak is resting and absorbing all juices.

Having it Friday night and so looking forward to it.

Chips
Mushrooms
Decent sauce

Decent red

Job done

I mean some people might roast some veg, cook asparagus, add butter to it, etc etc

Me too!

One of my favourite meals.

We always have chips with steak here, mostly because DH does all the cooking for the grown-ups and is a creature of habit. We always have at least 2 veg as well. Smile

If you are having asparagus with it I always think that roasted vine tomatoes go really well with asparagus. Grin

Chips and green peas.

Roasted vegetables (on colder days)
finally diced shallots, asparagus, bell peppers cooked in butter and lemon juice & then stirred into cooked and drained basmati rice (on hot days)

Add herbs of your choice (same or similar to those in the meat so they don't fight) to either recipe.

Chips :) with a lemon sorbet to follow, will refresh the palate but pick up on lemon in the main course.

A bit of steamed samphire with a squeeze of lemon and a blob of melted butter.

And some new potatoes :-)

French Joke....

What is black, white and red all over?

Why, it is one of your English steaks,
Orribly overcooked and covered in mayonnaise and
Ketchup!
