ShockMy longest cycle's an hour! Have you tried googling?

Eminybob · 12/04/2015 21:34

Ah now you see my washer tells me how long it's going to take and it sticks to it. I'd be most upset if it took a random amount of time Confused

giraffesCantBunnyHop · 12/04/2015 21:35

Same load has been in since 11am! Put it on and went out at 12, expected it to be finished when I can home but it had frozen. Reset it at 4.30 and it is still going now.

It does seem to be making rounding up noises...

I go on holiday on Tuesday - I need clothes dried and sorted to pack!

NeedABumChange · 12/04/2015 21:35

Jeez... That sound like an expensive wash.

Broken washing machines can be quite dangerous can't they? Or am I thinking of driers Confused

x2boys · 12/04/2015 21:36

Is it a Beko ? I had one that did this.

ginmakesitallok · 12/04/2015 21:36

Bugger! Can't you cancel it?

TheHappinessTrap · 12/04/2015 21:36

Mine does the opposite, says it's done when it has neither rinsed nor spun! Stupid machine thinks I won't be able to tell but I'm onto that sucker.

giraffesCantBunnyHop · 12/04/2015 21:36

I have a shit ones that my landlady bought me. It is the cheapest one you can buy at Currys, Essentials or something.

But it isn't the same one as on website now.

Although that ones longest cycle is 190mins!

GlitzAndGigglesx · 12/04/2015 21:36

Mine used to take hours and I figured it was due to limescale build up. I bought Calgon capsules and they sorted it but they're quite expensive so I've switched to Tesco limescale powder. Try a maintenance wash before your next load

giraffesCantBunnyHop · 12/04/2015 21:37

God I hadn't even thought of the money side of it!

OP posts:
giraffesCantBunnyHop · 12/04/2015 21:38

We don't tend to get limescale here thankfully.

Haha god knows how long it would keep the maintanence wash on for!

I need clothes to pack!!!

We bought the cheapest washing machine in the shop when our last one broke. Well that was a mistake. A 60 degree whites/cottons wash takes 4 hours, 50 degree takes 2:45 and 40 degrees takes 2:30.

There are another 6 settings. I wash everything on the 30 degree 'mixed fibres' wash and that takes 1 hr 18 minutes.

I fucking hate my washing machine Sad

LidlMermaid · 12/04/2015 21:41

My old one used to do this when the filter needed cleaned out.

I now have a shiny new one which is so super energy efficient that most cycles are 3 hours long. 3 fucking hours! I don't understand how it can be more efficient to take more than twice as long to wash a load.

howabout · 12/04/2015 21:46

Mine tells me how long it will take and then randomly reassesses as it goes along. Then when it has finished it beeps intermittently for half an hour - more needy than 3 DS and DH put together. Have you got an unbalanced load?

Shakey1500 · 12/04/2015 21:52

It's not doing a ten hour drying cycle straight after is it? Or suchlike?

Turn off at the plug?

giraffesCantBunnyHop · 12/04/2015 22:17

Well I decided I wanted to go to bed so switched it off at plug and waited the 5 minutes it keeps the door locled for.

Surprisingly the clothes weren't soaking, so I do think it was finisheing off but I had been thinking that since 7pm!

I think it had been put on to cotton intensive by accident! bloody hell! Will never ever use that again!

OP posts:
MrsFlannel · 12/04/2015 23:26

Mine never stops unless I stop it by cancelling. It's broken obviously. Maybe yours is too>

giraffesCantBunnyHop · 13/04/2015 10:04

Well this morning water started to pour out it. I checked the filter. ...A pair of my fancy pants were jammed in there!

OP posts:
howabout · 13/04/2015 10:15

Problem solved then! Have a good holiday! :)

Oldraver · 13/04/2015 10:31

Mine did this when the heater was fucked..as its electronic and (as most machines are) cold fill, it just keeps going round until the temperature is reached....or not in my machines case. It too, went round for four hours once.

Everything else on it worked so while I was waiting for a repair I used to soak clothes in the bath in hot water then put it through the washer with the heat turned off

zbBalls · 10/04/2024 05:53

I just plumbed in my new LG washing machine why did it take 3 and a half fucking hours to wash a few clothes the machine is brand fucking new come on Curry's if that's an eco wash it's just wasting my time not saving the planet I should have washed them in the shitting bath would have been quicker
