Lidl overcharged me today.

I'm so annoyed, I usually check my receipt before I leave the shop. I've just looked at it now. I bought 2 packs of pork chops, but I've been charged for 3. Human error I know and its too late to do anything but I'm so bloody annoyed. Would you all be, do you think there's any chance Lidl would believe me if I told them tomorrow?

No harm in asking. Obviously be friendly and charming and point out that you're a regular customer, etc.

MadgeFinn · 10/04/2015 23:24

Trouble is I don't think they have a customer service desk. I suppose I'd have to ask for the manager or something.

It wouldn't cross my mind not to go back! They will know how much stock they have. They will probably just believe you though.

MadgeFinn · 10/04/2015 23:28

Oh right Savoy, I think I will then, thank you.

Aldi dont have a customer service desk either and you just go up to a normal cashier (there are sometimes managers around the shop too) and i've found them to be very quick and efficient at refunds and replacements. Much much quicker than other supermarkets.

MadgeFinn · 10/04/2015 23:40

Right, thank you today, I'll give it a try anyway, I've nothing to lose.

It's easily done sometimes. Cashiers can and do sometimes make mistakes.

Just go and talk to the manager and they should refund you no problem.

Try phoning in advance? I did when I was overcharged (for 77 pots of basil!) because our Lidl is a PITA to get to and I didn't want to shlep down there without having spoken to someone first

RusticBlush · 11/04/2015 00:11

Yes this has happened to me before, although a different supermarket, i went in the next day and they refunded the amount - its worth a try.

Patapouf · 11/04/2015 00:22

They probably won't know how much stock they have Confused show me a supermarket with a reliable stock control system. Hint: there isn't one.

I'd go back tomorrow and ask for a refund, the worst they can say is no and then you vote with your feet.

SuperLoveFuzz · 11/04/2015 00:24

This happened to me in Lidl a couple of months ago with a jumbo packet of toilet roll. I was a bit embarrassed and nervous that they wouldn't believe me but they just refunded me straight away, no questions asked. I queued up at a normal till since they have no customer service desk. Definitely go back!

Not a chance with my Tesco!!

Missda · 11/04/2015 08:00

They did this to me with beer. They refunded it no questions asked.
