Started it about an hour ago. I thought it was a barbeque but no it's a bonfire. I have three loads of washing on the line and all the windows open as we've just had a load of plastering done...

AIBU to tell her she is an inconsiderate arse?

Ring the council and complain and ask her to put it out. Very selfish of her.

WorraLiberty · 10/04/2015 18:56

She should have knocked and asked if you wanted to take your washing in

MissBattleaxe why?

It's not illegal to have a bonfire unless you're burning hazardous waste, having them frequently or the smoke is causing problems to nearby traffic.

She should have knocked on your door and given you the opportunity to get your washing in.
Yabu to call her an inconsiderate arse.
Ywnbu to ask her to give you a knock in future if your windows are open/washing out.

Our neighbour started one at lunchtime which is a bit off on a sunny day. I'm not against them full stop and we have even had the odd bonfire ourselves but you wait until the evening when people aren't hanging washing out/kids playing out. This one must have lots of greenery or wet stuff on too as it is smoking out a huge radius. Idiots.

Get your washing in. It's unfortunate you're having to keep your windows open, but I'm guessing she didn't know?

A night time bonfire is much prettier anyhows Brain.
