I left a job after 3 days, it was that bad.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 30/03/2015 17:35

Pressed post too quickly,

Why is yours so bad?

WickedWax · 30/03/2015 17:37

yes I've been there. the day I handed my notice in is right up there as one of the best days of my life.

Isthatwhatdemonsdo · 30/03/2015 17:37

Yes. Part time job in a supermarket. Absolutely hated it.

seriouslypeedoff · 30/03/2015 17:38

Yep! I danced into work that morning! Was amazing! I did make sure I had another job to go to though! Best feeling!

I feel your pain, I'm currently stuck in a company that is having cash flow issues, the owner is close to having breakdown and I'm still waiting for February's salary...

championnibbler · 30/03/2015 17:44

yeah i've left a few jobs after just a few days.
all of them were horrible and people working there were wankers.

what's the problem?
is it the kids or staff?
i would leave if i were you and get a job as a substitute teacher.
less hassle and responsibility.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 30/03/2015 17:45

What is it that's so awful?

Ipigglemustdie · 30/03/2015 17:47

Hate mine to. been there for 8 years. Feeling like crying every time the alarm goes in the morning. only other jobs available in my area are all nmw or out of my league

TheWitTank · 30/03/2015 17:48

I know exactly how you feel. I left my job in HR in June last year after about 6 months of disliking it, and another 6 of absolutely hating and dreading it. I counted down the hours until leaving after handing in my notice. I'm now in a job I love, haven't once regretted leaving my old one and it's fabulous going into work without feeling sick to the stomach and a bag of nerves. It really has changed my life.

wispywoo1 · 30/03/2015 17:53

I feel your pain OP. I'm in a SM school which I also hate. I've got a new job for September so that's keeping me going. I think you hate your job in teaching its so so difficult because you're constantly on show, constantly performing. You can't just hide in the corner of the office wishing the day away. Have you looked into different options??

toomuchicecream · 30/03/2015 17:54

Is there no way you can leave and go supply? Otherwise, break it down into chunks ie 6 weeks between Easter and half term. Of that, 2 (is it?) weeks until you get a short week due to Bank Holiday Monday. That will break the half term up nicely. Then do you get an INSET day before half term for report writing? That will be another short week.

Are you definitely leaving at the end of the summer term? What will you do next? Do you have a longer-term overview of your career or where you want to be in a year or 2 years time? If so, is there any experience you can focus on now which will help you to get there?

I've just finished a really tough term, for all sorts of different reasons. But somehow, by concentrating on what I needed to do each week and not looking further ahead than a week at a time, the end of term came round remarkably quickly. You have my every sympathy - working in a school which is under the spotlight is incredibly hard on so many levels.

I left a job after 3 days and it wasn't that bad - just not for me at all.
