In Jan Sales I brought a headband for my wedding it has diamantes all on it. I have not looked at it since I have brought it but during my hair trial yesterday I noticed 1 of the small diamantes are missing.

I am so disappointed and want to take it back but AIBU to do so?

It could have fallen out after you bought it.

ScooseIsLoose · 29/03/2015 12:56

I doubt they would take it back now don't receipts usually say you have 28 days to return?

Missda · 29/03/2015 12:57

Surely that it's not fit for purpose if it has already fallen out?

You can't prove it was damaged when you bought it and in my opinion too much time has elapsed.

Earlybird · 29/03/2015 12:59

How much did you pay for it?

ChipDip · 29/03/2015 13:00

How would you prove that it's not fallen out after? If it had fallen out before then you would not have bought it? Too much time has passed IMO.

SurlyCue · 29/03/2015 13:01

Buy a little bag of diamantes on ebay and glue one one. No-one would notice.

oneowlgirl · 29/03/2015 13:01

I would take it back & explain that it's the first time you've properly looked at it to wear, so likely was damaged when you bought it. The worst they can say is tough luck, but they may offer a replacement or a suggestion of where to go to get it fixed. Hope you get sorted.

ScooseIsLoose · 29/03/2015 13:01

Would you Not have noticed it was missing when you bought it if it was?

Missda · 29/03/2015 13:02

£60 - Not masses of money but a lot of money for me... Never mind I will look into getting it fixed.

I'd try and take it back, if they have another one they might swap it, especially as it's for your wedding. You won't lose anything by asking.

livsmommy · 29/03/2015 14:24

I would definitely take it back. Even if it had fallen out after I wouldn't expect to pay £60 for something for it not to have lasted 3 months!

Theycallmemellowjello · 29/03/2015 14:38

Yes I'd take it back and explain the situation. They might say no but maybe they'll take pity!

rookiemere · 29/03/2015 15:50

It depends where you have bought it from.
I've brought back clothes to John Lewis after a few months if they have fallen apart and have always had a refund. In my mind if you pay a reasonable amount of money for something then you expect it to last for at least a season.
