Posting for traffic!

Having lounge walls skimmed tomorrow, how long until they can be painted or papered?
Thanks!

It completely depends on the amount of moisture in the room as to how long it takes to dry fully.

Ventilate the room as much as possible afterwards. You'll see the plaster lighten as it dries. We gave ours just over a week.

If you're going to paint the walls afterwards, you'll need to seal the plaster. You can buy sealer, but you're as well to use normal emulsion watered down (ratio of 80:20 paint to water). Cheaper and just as effective Smile

We had one of our bedrooms done last Tuesday, the plasterer said 2 days but we left it until Saturday to paint it. It's perfect, had no issues and didn't seal the walls, we weren't advised to.
