I need some tips on keeping calm. As I am absolutely terrified of my test that is looming.
I feel that my nerves are really going to let me down on the day Sad

The test is something like 35 minutes. So get it in perspective- 10 minutes driving about, traffic lights, roundabouts etc 10 minutes on manouvres, 10 minutes on independent driving and 5 minutes talking at the end. Done!! Half an hour of driving, that's all...

That's what got me through my test, I was not ready for it emotionally or driving skills wise but I passed first time much to mine and everyone else's surprise.

Mistakes, as long as not major and corrected properly and calmly, e.g stalling will not go against you.

I think my problem is not so much the test (tend not to get nervous before exams) but I just don't feel I can drive and can't get up the nerve to go out in the car. This despite the fact that intellectually I know I can (although a with a lot of rough edges) . Doesn't help that I live in a big city and everyone is a meanie to learner drivers!!

Sorry for hijack OP - i think these tips are great.
