Me and dh drunk and doing karaoke. Is it acceptable when there is only thee and me? We are in the same room. What difference does a microphone make?

It is acceptable. It makes you a duet.
The microphone makes the difference between having neighbours kept awake, or neighbours peacefully slumbering.

Why do you need approval from strangers?
