To keep my daughter home from school to watch the eclipse?

Just for the first hour of school.

Dd wil be in assembly during the time the eclipse occurs. She is year 2, aged 7.

The school are putting on a performance for reception children and the eclipse won't be acknowledged, though later in the day there will be watching of it on the bbc website.

I fully understand why the children cannot directly watch the eclipse, but I think it's a shame they can't acknoeledge the excitement of it happening and it going dark(er) outside.

I am home tomorrow so could delay start of school to see the eclipse with dd and then send her to school.

I have asked the deputy head for permission but instead she's going to get dd's teacher to contact me - even though I've already spoken to her.

Wwyd?

Tbh it's just going to be dark for a bit. I don't get the hype.
