To think that this isn't fair to everyone else? (work related)

I work in a sales environment. Generally we sell to customers in person who call into our premises or customers that phone in. However we do also have a website, on which prospective customers can make an enquiry, leave their contact details, and be contacted by a staff member who will deal with the sale for them.

Like all workplaces, our workplace has a staff member that seems to be the favourite with management. She is good friends with both managers, and regularly socialises with them. She is also very outspoken and loud.

Until recently the internet enquiries were divided up equally between all staff members each day at work, so that we all had an equal chance of getting equal extra sales. However this stopped and we were told that the managers were going to deal with those themselves.

However the favoured staff members has openly told us all in the past few days that actually she is now being given all the internet sales and enquiries, meaning that effectively she is getting the opportunity to deal with 20+ extra customers each day than the rest of us.

We all get commission on what we sell, so obviously this is annoying and unfair in my opinion. She has also in the past been given any big corporate orders to deal with that our managers have had in, and is always boasting about how much commission she earns each week.

So obviously she is getting an unfair advantage. I would say she is fairly good at her job but there are others that are better than her.

AIBU to think that it is unfair?

YANBU. But I dont know how you would go about tackling it though.

That is very unfair, how many staff altogether?
Can you all get together and say now unfair this is?

YANBU

Something similar happened at my place of work last year.

the 'culprits' ultimately both lost their jobs!

Would dealing with the internet enquiries mean she has less time to deal with other customers, thus evening things out a bit?

Have you had this down from the mgt, or is she full of bullshit? i would call her out on it, and go off and do the internet sales and wait to be told not to, then ask why, as it is favouring one person
