Dd has to paint her face funny for comic relief. I'm absolutely stuck. She has already said absolutely not to a clown. Any ideas?

The only thing I can suggest is something generic that she likes, ie a butterfly or a flower. DS has to do this at his school too which is a right pain as

  1. he hates having his face painted
  2. we haven't any face paints
  3. I'm away for 2 days so DH is in charge. The school will be lucky if DS turns up on time with all the correct uniform (oh and "wear something red" to complicate the mix), school bag, water bottle and packed lunch. If, indeed, DH remembers to make a packed lunch Hmm

Could you just do her eyebrows and then wear an actual red nose. Is likely to be less itchy than having whole face painted.

Think I might just do a small face paint. Dd won't wear a red nose hates masks or anything on her face but is weirdly ok with face paint Hmm

Beard and moustache?

BadgersNadgers · 11/03/2015 13:07

Oh bums! I forgot they were supposed to be wearing red as well as painting their flaming faces!

DS1 wants me to paint red noses on his face, so he'll probably end up looking like he's got the pox. DS2 wants me to make him look like a mouse. I'm not convinced that a mouse is especially funny but I am not brave enough to try to challenge the reasoning of a four year old.

Moustache sounds like a good call!! Convincing dd that is another issue though!

I'm just planning on sticking a temporary tattoo on each of DDs cheeks and letting her wear her poundshop headband with fake neon coloured hair attached. I don't want to have to buy face paints, then have to wash them out of her uniform when she's wiped her face on her sleeves.

A ladybird? Not on the hole face, just on the cheek? A large red circle, black spots, a little head, voilà!

hazeyjane · 11/03/2015 13:15

Can you do one of the red nose faces (the alien/ninja/robot etc) on the cheek? That is what my dds and ds are having
