About bonfires on sunny days?

Gorgeous day here today, which I've spent with the windows closed and had to bring my washing inside, as someone is having a massive bonfire and the entire neighbourhood stinks of smoke.

I don't mind if people have bonfires in the evening, or on cloudy gray days, but why spoil the first lovely, sunny, warm day of the year for everyone nearby?

because they are complete selfish gits ! love your moniker, considering the title of the thread.

meant to say the same goes for stinky bbqs, no problem with bbqs [even if i am vegan] but why the heck do some people insist on using lighter fuel or worse still petrol to get the wretched thing lit ???

I hadn't noticed that! Have had this name for ages and it has no bearing on the actual likelihood that I will go and start fires in RL. Grin

YANBU! Bloody bastard neighbour meant I had to bring my washing in last Sunday. He must have been given short shrift though, as it had been put out an hour later and my washing went back out!

one of my neighbours once had such a toxic smelling bonfire the fire brigade had to come and put it out, god knows what he was burning but the smoke was thick and black, as for the smell ...!

My DM had a brilliant habit of VERY loudly "muttering" about the inconsiderate nature of bastards i.e. the next door neighbours who have bonfires on sunny days as she furiously got all her washing in, which I was always in awe of as a kid (and was frankly surprised the neighbours were not quaking in their boots, she is a scary woman). YANBU.
