Wibu to ask those of you who have had a baby alone how you went about it? What process did you go through? How long did it take get your sample? What was the cost? Anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks

Hi lovesleep
As I type I have my nearly 8 week old daughter in my arms. I fell pregnant after 2 rounds of IUI using donor sperm. I saw a fertility specialist on Harley Street, and bought the sperm online from a cryobank in the USA. I would advise taking a lot of time to do your research about the donors available in different countries, the procedures and level of information that you will have access to. I had a specific requirement and so Anerica was the only option for me. Bear in mind that your child will have the right at 18 to try and contact the donor should they wish to.
There is loads of information online. I found the Fertility Friends forum really helpful during my treatment.
Good luck!

Congratulations on your new born. I have got my dd whom I adore and every hormone in my body is screaming out for another baby. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you?

Overall with sperm, shipping, freezing and treatment probably around £10,000
