Gimli Inspiration (Beard Dept) Pleeeeeeeeeeeedese!

I've got to do DS a Gimli costume & beard FOR TOMORROW! The clothes are fine; painting silver armour & axes as I type!
I don't have a beard!
Been in hospital all afternoon having my post mastectomy reconstruction tattoo & tomorrow morning I've got gynae to check that my fibroids aren't anything sinister, so here/now is it!
Any ideas.........HELP!

How old is DS? Have you got an old brown fluffy toy you can cut up and sacrifice on the altar of World Book Day?

Failing that, a fluffy cushion.

What brown materials do we have to work with? Brown jumper you could unravel? Wool? Felt? Could you skin a teddy bear?

Ahhh, an old wool jumper, I'll have a look, brilliant, thanks! (He's now told me he needs a helmet! Ooh, I like a challenge!)

He's 12 & just gone ballistic at the thought of sacrificing a cuddly!

Could you draw a beard on with black or brown eyeliner?

Cotton wool stuck to some shaped paper and painted.

An old t-shirt cut into thin strips.

What about a poly filled pillow for the beard? It would be white, but definitely beardlike.

You could make a Gimli helmet quite easily by sticking silver strips in a cross over the top and round the edge of a plain black hat.

If you can unravel a brown jumper, brush the wool out then do two long thick plaits which you could stick to the inside of the helmet.
