Tried to make my DD a bottle this morning and we had run out of baby milk. Tried to make myself a coffee just now and we have run out of grown up milk!

Lol

Surely a goat would be more in keeping with you being a Mumsnetter? Grin

Charitybelle · 26/02/2015 15:15

YANBU! Cows are super cute and it would pay for itself in dairy produce in no time!

CharleyFarleyy · 26/02/2015 15:53

I'm confused about the goat comment Sad

I never even thought about the other dairty products I could make! Me and DD could also ride the cow to Asda! Grin

Riding a cow haha.

You can rope it outside. Maybe to a trolley?

Discopanda · 26/02/2015 15:56

I recommend you read 'A Squash and a Squeeze' by Julia Donaldson before purchasing any livestock.

InanimateCarbonRod · 26/02/2015 15:57

YABU - Goats take up far less space and their milk has less mucus forming elements.

Plus goats cheese is lovely.

BertieBotts · 26/02/2015 15:59

Just don't keep it on the roof attached to you by a string. Unless you don't have a chimney, of course, then it might be safer!

CharleyFarleyy · 26/02/2015 16:00

I wouldn't leave it outside! I would ride him round Asda of course!

Cant buy a goat, DD only drinks Cow & Gate Wink

A good idea, however I see a flaw in the plan. While at the moment you're just running out of milk, I think if you had a cow, you'd just keep ending up running out of pasteurised milk, so you'd be no better off on the milk front I suspect. No idea how quick it is to pasteurise?!

Cute though, your DD would be the talk of her friends with a cow as a pet!

chockbic · 26/02/2015 16:02

You can filter it straight through a stocking.

Job's a good un.

tomandizzymum · 26/02/2015 16:13

Shudder.... cute? In the same way as a dustbin lorry is 'fluffy' right?
Just boil it and pour it into freezer bags, that's assuming you've got up at 5 am to go out into the cold and milk it.

A goat is worse! We had psyco the goat, 4am that sod used to start his bleeting. Annoying bugger.

I think a box of UHT is the way to go!!

Mousefinkle · 26/02/2015 16:18

Goats cheese and milk is utterly gross. Definitely buy a cow. Put a bell around its neck and call it Mabel.

PeterParkerSays · 26/02/2015 16:19

You need a milkman OP. Check your fridge the night before and order an extra pint if you're running low.

Doesn't help on the cow and gate though....

fattymcfatfat · 26/02/2015 16:20

cow all the way!

WhereIsMyFurryHat · 26/02/2015 16:20

I learned how much a dairy cow cost this week as my husbands uncle is selling all his cows. Around £1500. I was shocked.

Shall I ask of he'll do you a deal?
