To ask them if I can do the exam another time?

I'm supposed to have an exam today, it's a spoken exam for 40 minutes and is split across 4 weeks for everybody but (drawn at random) I'm first.

I have a hideous cold and cough, and have pretty much lost my voice. I know it's just a cold but I feel crap, I'm so snotty and fought I just want to lay down.

WIBU to contact my lecturer and ask if I can switch to a later date? Or does that just look really bad Confused

No idea why that random 'fought' is in there!!

There's no harm in asking - the worst that will happen is they insist it has to be today.

Don't know how formal this exam is, but I'd want a doctor's certificate.

The chance of me getting a doctors appointment today (and for a cold) is slim to none.., I just tried to get one for my DD and they didn't have any..

I'll have to just go there and hope they think lengthy coughing and steaming eyes and nose is charming Wink

Probably a bit late now but I would have phoned and asked. You're ill! I don't see how it would look bad unless you had a poor attendance record already.

If I was the examiner, I wouldn't particuarly have wanted someone sharing their germs with me!

Anyway, if you did go, I hope it went OK.
