to stop DS (7) from playing Mineplex

A friend's son gave my DS the password/server for Mineplex and DS loves the game. However, last night he asked me "What sort of Skype do we have?"

Apparently someone on Mineplex had asked him for details. I inwardly hit the roof, calmly changed the password for the laptop and now I don't want DS to play this game unless it's under strict adult supervision.

Am I over-reacting? All the Mineplex blurb says that the site is child-friendly and monitored, but I'm alarmed that there is direct chat going on, with possible internet weirdo activity / horrible consequences / you get my drift...

I don't think you're overreacting but from threads on here, I might be quite full on about online activities.

I think that any game where people can send messages and there are other players, is going to put kids at risk. My own niece was targeted age 11 by a perverted man who sent her weird images and filthy messages and she was going to meet him! He groomed her basically. My sister...way too relaxed had no idea.

Thanks, MrsT. DS and I have had a chat and we've agreed he's only to play these games when he's in the same room as me. x
