This map of Britain (as visualised by Londoners) is doing the rounds and in the style of the old Royal Mail adverts "I saw this and thought of you (MNetters in the SE)"

Hee hee hee! I'm in Sheeposexual region but wouldn't mind checking out Massive Shithole!!

FuzzyHeaded · 23/02/2015 20:39

Hah. I grew up in East Anglia and y'know, that stereotype is definitely one that is thrown around there, it's just that if you live in Suffolk you say it about Norfolkers and if you live in Norfolk you say it about Suffolkers etc... so probably about right. Also my genealogy proves it in my case Blush

zippyandbungle · 23/02/2015 20:44

Cheryl Cole? CHERYL COLE. At least give us Ant and Dec.

puddingisgood · 23/02/2015 20:50

I don't get the San Francisco' reference?

ThereIsACarInTheKitchen · 23/02/2015 20:52

They gave us Cheryl Cole .

Andrewofgg · 23/02/2015 20:53

Love it. My DSF was from Paddington and always insisted that South of the river they ate their young!

CombineBananaFister · 23/02/2015 20:54

It does make me slightly chuckle and sigh - tbh it's a bit lazy as far as stereotypes go, they could have done LOADS of better ones by now and I'm an oop norther so prime target. am happy to be ripped the piss out of but at least make it a bit less obvious Grin

DamsonInDistress · 23/02/2015 20:56

San Francisco = gay capital by the sea = Brighton!

puddingisgood · 23/02/2015 21:04

Ah, I see! Thanks Damson.

Coming from South London, I was always taught that anyone from North of the River was:
(i) a pretentious wanker,
(ii) a sheep to be fleeced,
(iii) a provincal who thinks of London as "the smoke", or
(iv) all of the above.

RattieofCatan · 23/02/2015 21:28

That map amused me, there was a better and more in-depth one a while ago floating around that was very good too.

Darkforcesatwork · 23/02/2015 21:30

OP YANBU Grin

I saw this last week on fb and thought of mn. Glad to know what the San Francisco reference is, was wondering about it when I saw it my geography is shit and I had no idea that was where Brighton is

FuzzyHeaded · 23/02/2015 21:43

Dejavu

After about six months of being together DP described my grasp of geography as consisting of a triangle - home in East Anglia being one point, London being another, and the place in the south-west where we then lived being the third. After some probing he realised I didn't even have the points correctly positioned in relation to each other in my head. Blush

We now live oop north so the triangle has a randomly extending line sticking out the top of it. Grin

Enormouse · 23/02/2015 21:49

Terrorists and crazy Christians - sounds about right.
