to find a style that I feel I have truly lost throughout the years?!

AIBU cos Im in my early forties, look like thirty something and many times feel tired like sixty and don't bother to look the perfect chic fashionista!

I'm a great fan of Joules, sometimes Gap, White Stuff but in the end all these shops look pretty much the same when in your fourties I think....

I like Nomads.

Lovely colours, made properly and it's all fair trade.

championnibbler · 18/02/2015 22:49

H&M is great for over 35s.
also:
vero moda
primark - surprisingly
gap, as you said, is brill during the sales. i always pick up a few bits then.

Have a look at hush.co.uk. Another MNer recommended it to me and I've bought some lovely things from there.

hestialou · 19/02/2015 07:53

Am 37, use phase eight mainly for non suit work days, fat face and monsoon for casual.

bubalou · 19/02/2015 07:57

I think you can pretty much shop anywhere no matter you're age as long as you're sensible.

Even the shops such as 'river island' etc that look a bit out there have some lovely staple items once you look past the studs and glitter etc.

Agree that newlook is good, H&M has a lot of stuff although I'm never a great fan of the quality, oasis and warehouse are nice.

If you're talking about trying to regain style - I love Pinterest. It's great for ideas!

I'm currently expecting my 2nd child and it has helped no end with some 'maternity fashion' and I have even been able to be specific by season for the winter.

Hope that helps. Smile

I love white stuff some of my friends like Mantaray in Debenhams. There is a fantastic shop near me that sells a lot of Nomad stuff and a Scottish label that I can remember the name of right now! For boots I absolutely always wear Fly.

GokTwo · 19/02/2015 08:10

M and S jeggings too. They are my find this winter!

Ainmnua · 19/02/2015 08:13

Thanks ButtonBoo I'd never seen Hush before and I love it, there's nothing on there that I wouldn't wear - it's going to be an expensive day Grin

Mousefinkle · 19/02/2015 08:14

Asos! I can't rave about it enough. At least 90% of my wardrobe is Asos. H&m isn't too bad, new look and Zara.

StrawberryTallCake · 19/02/2015 08:15

I love Hush - you can get 10% off at the moment with code spring15 FYI. Me And Em also good.

Ainmnua · 19/02/2015 08:20

Thanks Strawberry I think I'll need that 10%!

Ainmnua · 19/02/2015 08:21

Thanks Strawberry I think I'll need that 10%!

I like this thread, definitely feel it's easy to lose your way a bit. It's hard to know what still looks good. A friend buys a few pieces from Joe Browns and always looks good, though not sure it's for everyone.

bubalou · 19/02/2015 09:10

Fyi on the voucher code app there is currently 20% off m&s and BHS and 25% off Dorothy Perkins.

SaucyJack · 19/02/2015 09:16

I like H&M/New Look/Primarni.

I wear quite a basic "uniform" of black skater dresses and leggings, with plimsolls or boots depending on the weather. Anything too fussy makes me look even shorter and fatter.

It's not chic tho.

MrsDe · 19/02/2015 09:55

I misread as "favourite bands" and was going to come on and say u2 etc and then got really confused as to why everyone was talking about monsoon and gap...

btfly2 · 19/02/2015 10:10

Dear Ladies,

thank you soooo much :) Good info about brands and cannot wait to refresh my wardobre for the springtime with something different at last!

Nomads looks great and I didn't know about Hush...

Cool! xxx
