To use fish bowl to bake cakes?!!

Sort of.
DD (13) just baked some lovely red velvet valentine cakes for us all. She spent ages baking, washing up, mopping the floor after spilling flour etc. They look delicious.
But, I just spotted the plastic bowl that I use when washing out the goldfish bowl in the drying rack. She has obviously used it.
The fish doesn't actually live in this bowl but I stick him in it while I wash his own bowl out.
I can't throw out DD's lovingly made bakes can I? Will we all be ill?

Of course you won't all be ill!

It's a bit on the grim side but if you hadn't have seen it, you wouldn't have known. The oven will kill any nasties there could have been in there.

Enjoy your cake!

i would never mention it to anyone else and eat the cakes lol. im assuming you wash out the bowl after the fish have been in it.

I do wash out the bowl but DH was the last one to clean the fish so I just hope he did!
Lesson learnt, the offending bowl will not be put back in the same cupboard in future!

This has had me smile, how funny, I don't think you will be unwell at all. However I'm sure you will laugh about it in a few months time.

Lol I thought you meant actually baking the cake in the fishbowl Grin I kept thinking How will you get the baked cake out of a fishbowl?? Confused

It'll be fine...pretend you didn't see it. And how lovely your ds sounds too! Smile

Dd! Oops.

MrsTerryPratchett · 14/02/2015 18:44

Meh. The cakes are fully cooked, right? And slightly fishy tasting...

Ha, this reminds me of our goldfish growing up...
My gf won a goldfish at a local fair, and gave him to my big sister, and my dm, ever practical, thought - bugger spending money on a bowl for a fish that's going to die in 3 days, it can go in the big Pyrex baking bowl and I'll boil wash it when he shuffles off!

That fish went on to live for 21 years. In the bowl. Mum didn't want it back after.
