No graphic images but why would anybody make it let alone eat it.

I don't even eat ordinary yogurt so no way would I eat that. Why would anyone do that. Gross.

OnceUponATimeAgain · 13/02/2015 12:44

"However, Westbrook discovered there was not much information on making yogurt with vaginal bacteria -- or much information on vaginal bacteria at all"

really? ShockShockShockShock

JamNan · 13/02/2015 12:45

boak!

NeedABumChange · 13/02/2015 12:45

It's odd but it's odd that we are happy to eat any sort of bacteria really. Why is one acceptable and the other isn't? It's like the breast milk ice cream thing. It sounds icky but why are we all so happy to drink the milk of a completely different species.

No I wouldn't eat it though.

PrettyLittleMitty · 13/02/2015 12:46

Why? Just why? Yuk!

hmc · 13/02/2015 12:48

Well, she did do it in a spirit of scientific enquiry - not as a potential recipe book contribution....

Idocrazythings · 13/02/2015 13:13

No, I wouldn't ... Mine would probably be a cesspool of candida and group B strep. But it's a very interesting thought. I do like to make my own yoghurt normally though, but just use a few tablespoons of Greek yoghurt.

Anyone heard of fecal inoculation- apparantly really helping some people with IBS.

Germgirl · 13/02/2015 14:04

You know that Yakult probiotic stuff? The bacteria in those came originally from poo.
Although that was subcultured quite a few times before it was used. I'm not sure I'd want to use bacteria 'fresh from the source'

Germgirl · 13/02/2015 14:05

Also. Faecal transplantation is working wonders to cure previously incurable C diff infections.
Not sure I'dfancy it myself though

God no

My pregnancy induced thrush STINKS. It would probably taste like kipper pate. I hate fish Wink

mindthegap79 · 13/02/2015 16:45

I swear a bit of sick came up when I read the headline. Damn you Piper

Chillyegg · 13/02/2015 17:28

No I wouldn'tShock

But thinking about it it's strange as what we call culturally normal when we choose the foods we eat. I always find eggs and mushrooms a weired thing to eat on a "normal level"
Eggs well they're chicken embryos (correct me if I'm wrong)
And mushrooms are fungus and I wouldn't be licking a rock covered in fungus any time soon.
But yes a draw the line at vagina yoghurt! I can't imagine it being successful in the supermarkets! How did she make it! ?
