eat her Macdonalds fries one at a time. One.... at .... a .... bloody .... time!

I've managed to eat my fries, (2 or 3 grouped together), my burger and most of my drink, and she's still nibbling on about chip 12. )

And then ... then, she says "gosh you've eaten that fast!"

No mum. NO. You are eating terribly terribly slowly. She does say that sometimes she lives "dangerously" and eats 2 chips together ...

And then added to that, she ordered chicken nuggets instead of a double cheeseburger.

Sometime the sheer unreasonableness of the woman astounds me!

YANBU. My sister does this...with crisps too! I hate seeing her insert each crisp one by one. I tried it and it was frustrating as hell!

laughingmyarseoff · 08/02/2015 13:14

YANBU if she's really really slow and lunch ends up being a two hour affair.

YABU as well because it's better to eat slower then faster and your DM could say you are a wolfer.

What's wrong with nuggets? And how many?

YAVVU because now I want the grimness that is mcdonalds including nuggets and mcflurry.

PtolemysNeedle · 08/02/2015 13:17

YABU. Your mum is a human, not a dog. Chips and crips are supposed to be eaten one at a time, not shovelled in like you've been starving for weeks.

OhSammyBoy · 08/02/2015 14:00

Luckily she doesn't eat crisps ....

I don't shovel them in like I am starving. I just hold 2/3 chips together and eat them in 2/3 bites well 1 if its a really tiny chip

Its the whole taking an individual chip and eating it in about 5 bites. How does it take 5 bites to eat a chip?

Nuggets aren't a cheeseburger laughing that's what is wrong with them.

The whole point of a MaccyDs is the grease yuck that pervades the entire experience. You don't get that full effect with nuggets Grin

At least your DM didn't ask for a knife and fork as mine did when we went to McD's for a quick lunch. Grin.

My parents like to make an 'occasion' out of every meal - all well and fine if you are retired with not much else to do but the idea of my dad having a quick mug of coffee and half a slice of toast on the run for breakfast makes me laugh.

Breakfast at their house can easily take an hour and a half. Shock.

When they have a meal with us I have to make a conscious effort to ....... slow down ............ enjoy every mouthful .......... and make meaningful conversation Grin.

bonzo77 · 08/02/2015 14:06

She's a twat. It will all be cold and revolting by the time it's finished. You have to bolt a Mac Donald's.

LaVolcan · 08/02/2015 14:09

Has she got her own teeth? That can make a difference.

GlitzAndGigglesx · 08/02/2015 14:12

It's the unwritten fast food rule that you have to eat at least 3 at a time

HowCanIMissYouIfYouWontGoAway · 08/02/2015 14:14

Is she trying to look all genteel and ladylike? ooh, I couldn't possibly fit a whole chip in my tiny lady mouth Grin

usualsuspect33333333333 · 08/02/2015 14:14

Fries should be eaten one at a time, individually dipped into BBQ sauce.

laughingmyarseoff · 08/02/2015 14:15

*Nuggets aren't a cheeseburger laughing that's what is wrong with them.

Bad logic, nuggets beat a cheeseburger hands down :) The sauces, the dipping, the oily fingers...

HowCanIMissYouIfYouWontGoAway · 08/02/2015 14:21

no, Usual. Bad Usual. Fries should be eaten 3 at a time, dipped in banana milkshake.

Are you quite alright? ::head tilt::

Asking for a knife and fork in McDonalds is adorable.

Grin

My parents used to be like that. However, they've recently embraced McDonalds as an easy lunch and go there weekly.

They even gave the staff a box of chocolates at Christmas to say thank you for all of the lovely dinners..!

I remember going to Mcdonalds with my mum & aunt when I was about 10 32 years ago, where did that time go?
My aunt had never been before so we got her seated and went to order. She asked for a cheeseburger afree careful perusal of the menu.
The food was put in front of her & she immediately asked for cutlery. When she was told you had to eat with your fingers she visibly blanched but battled on.
The cheeseburger was unwrapped and inspected. "I can't eat this!" She said in her best Lady Bracknell voice, "it's got meat in it!!"
Apparently, to a genteel lady like my aunt, the word 'cheeseburger' denotes a cheese roll. Not meat.

I have just berated ds for grouping together a mass of chips about the thickness of a banana and eating them like....well... a banana. I found this massively annoying for some bizarre reason. Who knew Mac d chip eating polarized opinion so.
