To think that go ahead bars are just glorified garibaldi biscuits?

Been trying to think for well years now what they taste like! It seems to me that they are basically garibaldi biscuits in another guise, packaged expensively and sold as a diet/healthy living aid.

Am I wrong?

I hate that kind of stuff - peddled as if it's healthy. Full of sugar instead of fat or artificial sweetener. No such thing as a healthy biscuit. And what about 'breakfast biscuits'?!

emmaliz · 23/01/2015 19:00

You are completely correct. They are a sandwich of cardboard and raisins.

FreeWee · 23/01/2015 19:03

They are handy for taking out and about in a packet but YANBU they aren't even quite as tasty as good garibaldi biscuits. They have sugar sprinkled on top which can't be 'healthy'.

Can you still get actual garibaldi biscuits? God, I loved them. All bendy and curranty at the join.

Marcipex · 23/01/2015 19:12

I've been pointing this out for years. People just go Hmm

Garibaldi are nicer.

I hate garibaldi biscuits, and even I think it's offensive to call go aheads garibaldis!!!

YANBU

Dd2 loves them, I am going to try her on garibaldi.

I don't regard them as at all healthy but it's all about balance. Breakfast biscuits though - urgh!

I find some of these 'health' foods a real con. Take Special K for example, isn't it more sugary and calorific than Frosties?

FryOneFatManic · 23/01/2015 20:38

Garibaldis - generally known as "dead fly biscuits" in our household Grin

DS (aged 11) and DP are particularly enamoured of them.....
