Looks like a beetle to me! Though never seen a carpet beetle nor a flea!

WhenMarnieWasThere · 22/01/2015 21:06

I think carpet beetle. I had some that we're eating the carpet. As I was having moths sprayed they got taken down at the same time.

Can't see picture, but carpet beetles are little and a mottled brown. A bit like a mini ladybird. They sometimes are found on the windowsill near the light.

Chavaloy · 22/01/2015 21:11

It's not an apple pip - unless they have heads and legs....
So... what do you do with Carpet Beetles? Are they evil?

thingamajig · 22/01/2015 21:11

Definitely beetle

wednesdaysocks · 22/01/2015 21:13

Looks like a Fur beetle- would cause the same type of damage as a carpet beetle.

Purplepoodle · 22/01/2015 21:21

Knew was a bloody beetle. Now I'm battling flipping mice (earlier post) and frigging carpet beetles.

I have mice too! Mice, moths and beetles.

BeCool · 22/01/2015 21:36

Fleas jump and they are gone.

Carpet Beetle

browneyedgirl86 · 22/01/2015 21:39

Would say carpet beetle. We had them in our old house when we first moved in. We had to lift the carpet and we found a nest!

Ilovehamabeads · 22/01/2015 21:39

Carpet beetles are the bane of my life. Been battling with them the whole 5 years we've lived in this house. Don't know where they are hiding, I only ever find them on bright windowsills in the summer. I've sort of given up trying to eradicate them and we just coexist in the same house now!
In winter you find them as little furry grubs and then as adults in summer they look like tiny brown stripy ladybirds.

Purplepoodle · 22/01/2015 21:47

So grim. 10 years living here and we get hit with mice and carpet beetles. Tbf the beetles may have been around a while as my bedroom carpet is cream wool with brown bits in it - same colour as beetles. I was only crawling around the floor to look for mouse droppings with a torch to see if little buggers had been in my room.

Mil is whipping round with steam cleaner tomorrow and going to buy some pest spray. Will leave the carpet lifting until dh comes home

Bloody sick of cleaning. Once a week around the house is my usual, not bloody hoovering, mopping ect twice a day

browneyedgirl86 · 22/01/2015 21:51

It is a pain. When we had it we had to put down stuff to kill them, then we would Hoover. I was doing this twice a day for a week. Eventually got rid of them!
