About DD loving DH more than me

I'm sort of kidding, really, but 9mo DD has, in the space of the last two days, turned into a right daddy's girl: clings to him, cries when he leaves the room, smiles at him all the time.

She's completely lost interest in playing with me and whinges constantly when he's not around/at work. Even DH has started saying: "Why are you mad at mummy?"

Trying not to be a teensy bit jealous (as I know logically that that is ridiculous) but I'm kind of wondering what it is I did to piss a tiny baby off! Wink Unreasonable or a natural reaction, I wonder?

She's realised that he's a separate person. She still thinks you and she are one.

She is too young to have been pissed off or hold a grudge. It sounds as if she is developing her bond with her father. I do not think it is anything to worry about. She is realising that he is not there all the time and can not understand that he will come back. She is secure with you.

A colleague of mine at work was telling me that her DS, who must have been about the same age as your DD, would only go to his Dad and seemed to not like her, it was upsetting her. A couple of months later, it was only her that he wanted and would not let his Dad pick him up. It was just a development phase. Her DS is now 3 and has a strong relationship with both parents.

Try not to let it get to you, it will change. It is natural for you to be a bit upset about it.

They go through phases like this. It doesn't mean a thing. DS is 3 now and it changes by the hour. Don't worry :)

You didnt do anything! It happens, kids go through phases.

My 10 month old became a real daddys girl over christmas. Probably due to him being off over the holidays. She is better now and switches between the 2 of us now. Its just a phase but it can be a bit upsetting at first.

I eventually thought great I can have a cup of tea etc while she was with him.
