to ask for advice about door handles

Our builder has told us it's entirely up to us and can choose anything we like. I like rose handles (just a handle on a circle). DH prefers the plate ones (handles on a rectangle). Does anyone have any advice? Have any mnetters had both and can tell me which is best? I can't see any way of resolving the issue without battling out over a hand of rummy and seeing who wins!

Which one is easier to clean and gives less contact with the door itself?
I have both for some weird reason. The back door to the patio has a rose one. It is forever filthy, I am always cleaning around the handle.

Damn, I don't want dirty handles. I hadn't thought of that. Apparently you should hand your DCs a cloth and make it their job to clean door handles (wisdom of a Facebook post) so I can always try that
