To ask what's the beef with benefits?

Do people think they are too little? That they should be more?

There's always a lot of upset on here about them - about how wrong the government are and how awful life is on benefits. I've never been on benefits so obviously can't judge. But what are the solutions?

I suppose I am asking what should the government do?

Daisy has also been on a thread in Relationships slating a SAHM who is doing all the shitwork while the DH doesnt even lift a finger for the kids from HIS previous relationship.

So what about HIM being responsible for the kids HE chose to have Daisy.....oh wait he has a penis doesnt he and you think it should only apply to women.

Hmm oh so generous

ilovesooty · 04/01/2015 19:29

I bet she doesn't know how long you get sanctioned for either.

A colleague of mine who got paid work eventually through volunteering and dozens of job applications was sanctioned for a month for advising the job centre that she had to miss her appointment due to attending a job interview.
I know a case where the claimant had to miss her ESA assessment due to illness, certified by a doctor.. Her benefits have been withdrawn until she attends an assessment. She hasn't been given a date for one despite calling daily. She's had nothing to live on since the middle of September. She's also been refused a hardship loan. Perhaps Daisy thinks she should just die and stop being an inconvenience to the taxpayer?

LeftyLoony · 04/01/2015 19:30

Yep of course daisy is trolling debating.

LuisSuarezTeeth · 04/01/2015 19:30

OK, back to the OP, who is no doubt cowering in the corner wondering what on earth she started....

Beef with benefits - like friends with benefits - shaggable beef? Beef with red wine?

handcream · 04/01/2015 19:31

There seem to be a lot of women on here who have poor judgement in men when they choose to have a child and then complain it's not their fault...

LuisSuarezTeeth · 04/01/2015 19:31

Kittens?

Sporn?

Otherwise it's going poof...

LuisSuarezTeeth · 04/01/2015 19:32

LuisSuarezTeeth · 04/01/2015 19:34

Sage, you say... fresh or dried Dawn?

LeftyLoony · 04/01/2015 19:34

woot! Another neoliberal astroturfer!

Dawndonnaagain · 04/01/2015 19:35

Damn, I should have been able to look fifteen years into the future and know that dh was going to become ill and have to give up work. I am so fucking irresponsible. Confused

LuisSuarezTeeth · 04/01/2015 19:35

Oh FFS

handcream... it was not my fault... my 9 kids by 12 different dads all of them rubbish you would have thought by number 12 i would have had some luck but no :( but i do have most of the kids pretty well trained.

LeftyLoony · 04/01/2015 19:36

Fucksake Luis - this is life on benefits here. Sage is expensive and should be substituted with dandruff or pencil sharpenings.

handcream · 04/01/2015 19:36

Most men.. Or just the men you choose, that is as sweeping generalisation of men!

handcream google reproductive coercion/reproductive abuse and educate yourself.

Hands up how many of you think some of these right wingers are doing Dry January and are looking for someone to take it out on.

handcream was one of the people on the recent "NHS in a state" thread slating ppl who went to the doctor for "every little niggle"

The same posters were conspicuious by their abscence on the drinking/binge drinking thread though which after all costs the NHS money too.

Funny that!
