To say Sanex 0% roll on deodorant is the worst deodorant ever?

I bought Sanex deodorant a few weeks ago. It says it gives 48 hours coverage but it is absolutely rubbish. It gives the same coverage against BO as splashing a bit of water under your armpits. By about 2pm I get whiffs of smelliness emanating from my pits. It is going in the bin. I got it on special offer, and now I think I know why the shop was trying to get rid of them...

A bottle of deodorant costs about three quid anyway. Definitely worth the extra couple of quid for one that you can be totally confident about. It's actually quite hard to wash your pits when you're using it because they're SO dry Grin

I like Mitchum, I use the stick one as dp hates the spray and says when I use it it catches in his throat. I say the same about his BO basher but he's not thoughtful enough to change it.

Is sure/dove as good as driclor. I love driclor but it stings like mad?

PixieofCatan · 04/01/2015 13:49

I switched to the sure/dove max protection cream from mitchum a few months ago, it's amazing how well it works! I'm bot sure what the difference betwen the dove/sure versions are though, they're in very similar packaging and I intend to buy sure but have brought home dove a couple of times!

PixieofCatan · 04/01/2015 13:52

If you are thinking about driclor, becareful with it and stop using it if it causes issues! I used it for about a year when I was a teen and it burnt, caused my skin to go really dry/tight and then crack. I carried on using it as I was paranoid about sweating. I tried it again a year or so ago thinking I just hadn't used it properly but it made my skin really dry again so I stopped.

bottleofbeer · 04/01/2015 14:06

Driclor basically turns to acid when it mixes with moisture so your pits have to be totally dry before you put it on and then make sure it dries totally before you dress. That's why it hurts your skin. The Dove and Sure really does work just as well but it doesn't cause any irritation at all. Dove and Sure are exactly the same, I just prefer Dove products so either are fine.

Wolfiefan · 04/01/2015 14:08

Sure is great. 48 hour cream one.
Tempted to try Dove now!

Welshmaenad · 04/01/2015 14:11

I like the Mitchum roll on but the spray is good too. Powder or shower fresh - lovely.

Jazzhandsrule · 04/01/2015 14:13

I always use it and thinks its really good. Only negative is that it takes a while to dry. Are you letting it dry before you dress?

samesizetoes · 04/01/2015 14:35

I use Mitchum roll on for men cos you get twice as much for the same price as womens and I never had an issue with drying time.

itsbetterthanabox · 04/01/2015 16:24

I like the beigey sanex one.
Mitchum does work in the sweatyness but it's so harsh I instantly get severe eczema under my arms that itches like crazy and stays for weeks even using hydrocortisone.
Does Mitchum not irritate anyone else's skin? It's caustic!

AnyFucker · 04/01/2015 19:43

Mitchum is fine on my skin. I am not particularly sensitive though tough as rhino hide

OhWotIsItThisTime · 04/01/2015 20:05

I use Mitcham roll on and it's great.

Libitina · 04/01/2015 20:08

Another vote for Mitchum powder fresh here as a sweaty bird in a physical job.

confused79 · 04/01/2015 20:08

I loved the smell of the dark blue Sanex, always reminds me of my college years. Didn't offer any protection though!
I use Perspirex Plus now after years of trying to avoid the wet patches, which works a treat. And haven't had any problems with overly dry armpits or stinging as reported by some people who are /were using it.

Peppermintsea · 12/02/2020 01:05

I agree, Sanex is the absolute worst! I never smell but jeez after using that I smelled my pits for the first time and I gotta say it’s not pleasant! Back to Sure for me!
