To ask for cheaper alternatives to mooncup?

Hi all, posting here mainly for traffic. Have been meaning to ask for a while but the thread about reusable pads reminded me. I know you can order a mooncup in Boots for £21.99 but does anyone know of any cheaper brands? I had a Diva cup about 7 years ago but tbh I've no idea where it's gone and should probably buy a new one now anyway. I'd love to go back to a cup but wasn't sure what the cheapest, decent brand is out there.

I have meluna, it's half the price of a mooncup and just as good.

I was directed to a website - feminine wear perhaps? They have a large range of cups and a closed group on facebook where you can get really good advice on what to get

NoArmani how do you work out what size you need? Mooncup only has two - younger than 35 / not given birth or over 35 / have given birth - so it was easy to work out as I'd fit into first category. No idea with meluna though.

Tbh compared to the price of tampons and towels a mooncup pays for itself in a few months.

Yeah definitely, especially as they seem to be increasing in price dramatically lately! DP was shocked at the cost of sanitary towels last time I bought them and tbh so was I! I just thought it'd be good to try and find a cheaper alternative to mooncup.

I thought I'd find the size thing for meluna but turns out it's just a cardboard spinny thing they send out to you and you can't actually use online - typical they have none in stock!

I have had my mooncup for 15 years. It cost £15. So less than 10p a period. Bargain.

There are a few eBay sellers who do menstrual cups for around £3.99- same sizes and a few different colours, brand new obviously and with a little bag. I have 2 and they are fine.

I've got (my second) coil instead, was free and I haven't had a period for 8 years

mrspremise that's awesome! Unfortunately I had a coil before and it gave me regular but very heavy and very painful periods.

I'm wondering if it's worth me buying some of those washable panty liners as well as the cup to wear on the first day or two just in case of leaks.

Either of these any good?

You shouldn't need panty liners if inserted correctly, but I used left over pads for the first few times for confidence but didn't need it.

I have been swimming, fair ground rides and all sorts of things I couldn't do because I can't wear tampax, but I have never felt my cup.

I do have a special cup to sterlise the cup after use, I use Milton baby bottle fluid.

I have had my first Mooncup for about 10 years and then my second (due to age) for about 3 years.
Yes £22 is a lot up front but much less than towels or tampons over the years.

Thanks all. Good point about using left over pads, I do have a fair few so if I order before my next period I can just use them up then.

I've seen a few sets with both the pads and the cup in. They also come with a washable wipe - what on earth for? Am I just being dull?
