Oooh
Now I want some salted caramel wendsleydale!!

wibblyjelly · 24/12/2014 16:01

I've done a salted caramel glaze for my ham, it's delicious!

Bulbasaur · 24/12/2014 16:07

Until we have salted caramel flavored bacon, this obsession has not gone far enough.

ariadneoliver · 24/12/2014 16:07

I have tasted salted caramel cheese (not the Waitrose one to be fair), it's just wrong. But if you did fancy some why not pair it with Salted Caramel Peanuts or Pumpkin spice salted caramels washed down with a cup of salted caramel tea
with a salted caramel candle burning in the background Grin

I love salted caramel, especially ice cream and pierre herme macarons but I had a salted caramel latte last week and it was rubbish. Agree it has gone too far. The salted caramel wensleydale sounds yuck.

misskangaandroo2014 · 24/12/2014 16:14

Oh god. Are they still open?

CaptainAnkles · 24/12/2014 16:18

What next, salted caramel pulled pork?

ViviPru · 24/12/2014 16:18

Flavoured cheeses per se are for cheese philistines, salted caramel or otherwise.

Tzibeleh · 24/12/2014 16:22

Flavoured cheese is an abomination Full Stop.

NightOwl17 · 24/12/2014 16:27

The Tesco finest version of Baileys with salted caramel is the nicest drink I've ever had in my life.

Morrisons do lovely salted caramel cookies too.

As you can tell, I like salted caramel Xmas Grin

BertieBotts · 24/12/2014 16:32

Pumpkin spice salted caramel bacon. Served in individual jars which you have to smash with a miniature hammer, and tweezers to pick out the slivers of glass. The ultimate in hipster foods Grin

mrsminiverscharlady · 24/12/2014 16:32

YABU. We are having salted caramel Brussel sprouts tomorrow.

Eminybob · 24/12/2014 16:33

I just bought some salted caramel truffles from aldi - thought they sounded yum.

THEY ARE NOT TRUFFLES! Truffles are surely ganachey or cakey in the middle these are just choc balls filled with salted caramel. Not a truffle in my book and I was sorely disappointed !

wowfudge · 24/12/2014 16:38

Mrsminiver I nearly threw up in spontaneous reaction to that one!

Damn about the Aldi truffles - I've got a box hidden away.

I love salted caramel, but it's not always well executed.

fitflopqueen · 24/12/2014 16:42

Salted caramel green tea! yes that's what my Dd is drinking this afternoon, just wrong Xmas Hmm

mrsminiverscharlady · 24/12/2014 16:46

Philistine Grin

CinderellaRockefeller · 24/12/2014 16:49

I really don't like salted caramel. And I love salt in general, I have a whole cookbook about salt!

So YANBU, it's everywhere and its rank.

reallystuckonthisone · 24/12/2014 16:51

I don't find it's ever salty enough for me. But, on balance...salt...caramel - what's not to love?

Ultracrepidarian · 24/12/2014 16:58

If your bored of eating salted caramel you can now bathe in it. Philosophy do a yummy salted caramel and hot cocoa shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath.

You can also buy salted caramel candy canes!

marne2 · 24/12/2014 17:01

We have bought some for our cheese board, I havn't tried it yet and I'm not sure if I will brave it or not Grin cheese obsessed dd made me buy it.

squirrelnutmeg · 24/12/2014 17:29

Yes too far along with pulled flippin pork!

toffeeboffin · 24/12/2014 17:46

Just imagine a cheesecake made with Wensleydale Salted Caramel cheese... Think I am actually a genius Grin

AimlesslyPurposeful · 24/12/2014 17:50

I saw salted caramel parsnips for sale today.

Is there anything the shops won't smother in salt and caramel?

Charlieboo30 · 24/12/2014 18:44

Aimlessly - was that in Morrisons by any chance? If so, we have bought some! Just imagining it's going to be like honey glazed ones. Last year, we had the frozen Aunt Bessie's ones and they were vile.

When I bought them, the lady on the checkout said she thought they looked disgusting but they'd been selling well. Bet Morrisons are glad she doesn't work for their marketing department...

ariadneoliver · 24/12/2014 18:44

Salted caramel parsnips sound like something invented by Satan's own chef. I hate parsnips at the best of times but to make them even more sickly sweet by adding caramel is evil.
