I had the Marina coil fitted just over 4 years ago at 50 years old due to horrendous periods that would have stopped me leaving the house.

Now I want it removed as I've only had sex once since it was fitted and I guess the menopause could be over?

Would I expect to bleed for a few days after?

What's your experience?

HELP me make my decision PLEASE!

why have it removed if its doing its job re periods ?

RobotRuthy · 22/12/2014 21:27

Cos I'd like to feel like having sex again and I've had an uncomfortable itch which some other people have mentioned that I don't know if it's the coil or the menopause.

It feels psychologically, like a foreign object, Red...

It can really hit the libido, apparently.

HerrenaHarridan · 22/12/2014 21:32

It seems like a no brainer to me. If it's affecting your libido and you think it's outlived it's usefulness. Get it out!

You can. Always have it refitted / try something else of your periods come flack in force

RobotRuthy · 22/12/2014 21:48

Your "flack in force" made me laugh Herrena... Grin

Would the itch be menopause or this?

You can have a test for the menopause - that might help you decide

LineRunner · 22/12/2014 23:41

Maybe you just want rampant sex. Smile
