to gp back to the doctors and demand a strep test?

Normally I'm not too concerned about my own health but dd had scarlet fever over the weekend and Dh picked up a nasty strep throat infection as a result.
I have no tonsils anymore but have a yellow/white patch at the back of my throat and just generally feel like shit.
went on Monday and doc Saud no temp etc so no strep and just to treat it as a virus.
Still not a massive temp but a slight one, no viral symptoms, a throat like swallowing razor blades, yellow dots look no better and ive got an absolutely whacking headache.
what are the odds of dd and Dh having strep and mine being completely unrelated?

if you are in the UK you can demand all you like but NHS GPs do not have near patient testing of any sort for bacterial infections unless they are part of a trial.
