Should be a week's pay, right?

If an individual person not a company where individual changes.

I don't think there is any 'should' in this situation, it varies. I think a weeks pay is what a lot of people give though and it seems reasonable to me.

I give my cleaner £50 for Christmas but up to you.

I give a week's salary (£50) and a box of chocolates, but I don't think it's a 'should' thing.

Another just doing a tin of chocolates. But now feeling a bit tight (& skint!)

I do wine/chocolates/flowers. I think a week is generous. You may think I am tight.

Certainly no 'should' about it. People vary widely in what if anything they give.

This year mine is having a box of chocs and a bottle of raspberry vodka that I know she really likes, total cost £25. Her usual weekly pay is £20.

That said I think a box of chocs is fine.

For me, a week's pay for my cleaner would be £30 (comes once a month for 3 hours). I find it hard to find even that so I bought a £5 box of Lindt chocolates for her.

I get a nice box of chocs, nice bunch of flowers and a week's pay. Is that mean?

oops posted too soon. I then menat to say I don't pay her if she doesn't work between xmas and new year..

My cleaners come once a fortnight they charge £60
I give them £30 for Christmas

As a cleaning business owner we don't expect pressies but love a card with a lovely message in!

We get lots of wine, chocs and tips which are shared around between us all but our fave thing are the cards with messages stating how much our clients value us! Maybe we are just a soppy bunch! :-)

We give all clients a small box of chocs and a promo calendar to say thank you for their business!

Nice card with double her fee inside. Love my cleaner - she's a gem! She leaves everything at right angles. I love coming home when she's been!

I'm giving mine holiday pay for the two bank holidays and half a weeks wages.

We pay Treasure her usual rates, so that she can have a holiday of she chooses, or come in and be paid as usual, thereby earning double rates.

We know we are very spoiled to have her, and like to make sure she feels appreciated.

This is the first year we've had a cleaner. She does 3 hours a fortnight (£36) but I was planning on putting £20 in a card. We only spend about £30-£35 each on most family members so it seems wrong for the cleaner to get more than that!

I give my cleaner two weeks' wages for both Christmas and her birthday in recognition of the fact that she doesn't get holiday pay.

It's usually a weeks salary from me too. I actually pay my current cleaner two weeks pay but that is because she is a brilliant employee and hasn't taken a single day of sick in all the years I have employed her. She is never late and never leaves early.

I also pay her for bank holidays. I give her the choice of double pay if she comes in or normal pay if she takes the day off. (She always comes in )

So, if my cleaner would be due to come on Christmas Day, tomorrow do I give her this week's money and next week's, or both plus another week? I'm confused!!

Oh, meant to say I have got her a present as well...
