Ebay - WIBU to do open a case?

I sold an item a few days ago. The following day the buyer sent a message saying he wanted it urgently and could he pick it up. I agreed. I didn't hear anything and sent another message asking him to make arrangements for collection. He answered this time, saying he would collect yesterday or today. No word until about 5 yesterday, when he said it would be today, this afternoon. I said that was fine but asked for an approximate time so that I could ensure I was in. I also asked for them to bring the correct money or to pay by PayPal beforehand, as I would not have any change ( I didn't want them to see the item and try to bargain on price, nor did I want to be there with a stranger trying to find change. No word all day. I texted at about 5.30 asking for collection before 8 - I don't want someone I don't know calling at all really, but certainly not late. Still no word from them. I sent a message saying that I had ensured that someone was in all day and had had no word from them, could they please contact me to arrange payment and collection?
So - aibu to open a case or should I wait a bit longer?

Wait max 2 more days but PLEASE do not take payment by paypal for a collection item. If he claims not to have received it you will automatically lose the case.

I would send another message stating that if the item wasn't paid for and collected in 24 hours, you will be relisting.

NEVER accept PayPal for a collected item, only where you have proof of delivery. Cash on Collection.

Presumably OP will want eBay fees back so will need to open a non-paying buyer case - after doing that the buyer gets a further 4 days to pay before fees are refunded and the case closed. If you don't do it like this then you lose fees and leave yourself open to negative feedback if the buyer is of the twatty type.

Official proof of delivery, I mean. Royal Mail etc.

Thanks for that, I hadn't thought about the PayPal issue at all.
