A friend was being abit of a knob about a situation earlier and in my mind I felt like just saying "yabu" and walking off. Starting to think I spend too much time on mn Grin

What's YOLO Confused

Schmoop · 09/12/2014 18:24

YOLO???

fuckmeblindiknowthatcat · 09/12/2014 18:41

YANBU.

Language has evolved and everyone needs to understand this. This very morning my cat made me late for work; instead of giving me the 'talk to the bum cos the paw aint listening' look (sooo 2007) he could've used the ODFOW Hmm glare.

AppleYumYum · 09/12/2014 18:42

YOLO = You only live once

GemmaWella81 · 09/12/2014 18:42

Unlikely as it's origination was a middle class parenting site...

YOLO is youth speak..

Saying Ya-bu or Yah-boo might work but unlikely imo, all the acronyms on here are like Greek to my friends uneducated in mumsnet speak..

GemmaWella81 · 09/12/2014 18:43

Let alone teenagers....

WhyYouGottaBeSoRude · 09/12/2014 18:47

Yabu has been around far longer than yolo.

Schmoop · 09/12/2014 18:55

as a word said out loud?

OP posts:
WooWooOwl · 09/12/2014 18:57

It could, but I'd be sad if it did happen. I am very fond of YABU, but YOLO is irritating.

Aeroflotgirl · 09/12/2014 20:26

Oh right thanks Smile

WorraLiberty · 09/12/2014 20:43

No, 'BAE' stands for 'Before Anyone Else' (so like your very best friend).

And yes, it does apparently mean shit in Danish Xmas Grin
