To put chocolate milk in my tea?

Picture the scene:

Freshly boiled kettle, already poured onto the tea-leaves in the carefully warmed pot.

Still-warm coconut macaroon waiting temptingly on a plate.

I go to the fridge - and the only milk is a carton of chocolate milk that I bought for the kids as a weekend treat! AAAAAARGHHH!

So I am having a cup of tea made with chocolate milk. My grandmother would turn in her grave!

YABU. I'd put it in coffee at a push, but couldn't mix tea and chocolate.

Is it repulsive? Grin

squoosh · 05/12/2014 11:59

Barbarians like you don't deserve freshly made coconut macaroons. Pass them over here please.

AdventCaroline · 05/12/2014 11:59

It tastes like, well, tea with chocolate milk in.

I don't think it is going to catch on tbh Grin.

Oooh! I so want a macaroon Confused

I made coffee last week - no milk so was raiding the fridge and had to use some double cream. I swear my hips grew a little more with every mouthful.

NewNamePlease · 05/12/2014 12:12

Chocolate is supposed to go better with tea anyway. The coffee thing a big commercial thing.

AdventCaroline · 05/12/2014 12:12

Mmm, double cream in coffee...

Yabu!

AdventCaroline · 05/12/2014 12:14

Really, NewName? I do like dipping chocolate biscuits in tea.

But having drunk the whole cup, I can safely say that I was BU. Should have had it black.

It was worth a try. Could have been a taste sensation. Grin

HatieKokpins · 05/12/2014 13:02

Try Baileys in coffee. Oh my!

Purplepixiedust · 05/12/2014 19:49

Sounds disgusting!

Might work in coffee... But baileys would be better :D Doesn't work in tea though.

londonrach · 05/12/2014 19:54

Yabu. Why the tea. Yuk. Waste of hot water. Hot water should be used for cooking, hot water bottles and baths only.. Dont get me on milk unless its with hot chocolate then im listening... Nice cold glass of water and that macaroon and i understand..

vienna1981 · 05/12/2014 20:28

Yuk. Chocolate milk ( sorry children ) or black tea. But not both for heaven's sake.

Why have you run out of milk ?

GrouchyKiwi · 05/12/2014 20:32

Dear me. If I hadn't been sitting down I'd have fainted. YWBVVU. What a criminal thing to do to tea. I hope it was Tetley's.

AdventCaroline · 05/12/2014 20:41

I presume DH someone had used a vast amount of milk on their morning weetabix.

It wasn't Tetley. Actually I think it was possibly Twinings, but not sure because I always put it in a tin and throw the packet away

I have learned my lesson, I will have it black in future Grin.
