70's fashion. Was it truly wrong?

My Dad loved safari suits. He had three, khaki, beige and a lilac colour. He also had a purple suit which he teamed with a lilac shirt and a wide purple paisley tie. Also cream loafer type shoes. With long sideburns. I do believe though that it was the thick, knee high white socks worn with sandals and shorts that was the really massive fashion crime. Wrong in the 70's or at any other time.

My wedding photos make for great conversation. The groom wore white,I looked gorgeous < of course > and the guests were straight from central casting with their eclectic mix of mullets, platforms and 50 shades of brown. Grin
